Seder Dinner

As you know, Easter Sunday is coming up soon. To help celebrate, Student Activities is planning on hosting a Seder Dinner. A Seder Dinner is a traditional Jewish feast held to commemorate Passover, and is traditionally held during late March or early April. The story of Exodus is recited, symbolic foods are eaten, and freedom is celebrated!!!

As this calls for very particular foods to be purchased, we need to know who would be interested in participating in such an event. The date of the event will be Wednesday, April 4th at 5:00pm in Hunt Chapel. The event should only last about 30-45 minutes, and given the small nature of the food, you will still have time to grab dinner in FFT or Martin Dining Hall.

Trojan Disc Golf Team

Student Activities and the entire student body would like to congratulate the Trojan Disc Golf Team for placing 8th out of 22 teams at the Georgia Tech Qualifying round for the Disc Golf National Collegiate Championship. This is Anderson University’s first year to have a disc golf team and the other teams there definitely saw us as a threat. Although only the top 7 teams proceed to the championship division, we sure showed everyone else what it means to be a trojan. We will come back. We will play hard.

The team plans to play on Wednesday, Aprill 11 for one more shot at the championship round. The final tournament is April 12-14 in Augusta, GA.

Senior Mugging

The Senior Mugging will take place April 2nd at 7 PM, and will be a time for seniors to enjoy some time together as graduation is quickly approaching. Students will be able to socialize and enjoy root beer floats from an AU mug donated by the Alumni office. Students will also have one last opportunity to donate to the Senior Class gift and give back to AU! Students who donate to the Senior Class gift can receive an AU wristband, T-shirt, graduation cord, and a plaque with their name on it in the new student center. Make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity!

TWIRP Shirts

One of AU’s biggest traditions- TWIRP Week is happening the week of April 9th. TWRIP stands for The Woman Is Required to Pay and is a twist on a good ‘ol fashioned Sadie Hawkins Dance. We’ll offer several really fun events that female students are encouraged to invite male students to attend with you! Each event costs a TWIRP-buck and each female student is given two. You can purchase additional ones in the Student Activities office.

One really fun part of the week is the opportunity to get a new t-shirt for your collection! If you are interested in purchasing a TWIRP shirt check back here for a link next week, or come by the Student Activities office to sign up anytime! They are $7 each and prepayment is required. We’re only ordering the number sold– so be sure to order yours by April 2nd at 4:30.
